Delhi High Court Bomb Blast, September 7th 2011
The Capital of India, New Delhi, once again was rocked when on today’s morning around 10.30 am a powerful bomb blasted off outside the Delhi High Court gate number 5. The bomb was planted in a briefcase and was placed outside the Delhi HC. The bomb went off when the lawyers and visitors were gathered outside the main reception counter to get the passes for entering in the premises.
This powerful blast outside Delhi High Court has killed 11 Indian Citizens, injured 62 and wounded countless hearts. The blast created a metre-deep crater near the blast point.
As per the online sources, a Muslim militant group Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami took the responsibility for the blast. Indian Authorities have not confirmed the claim and said they were investigating whether there is any hand of Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami – an Al Qaeda.
The Delhi Police cordon the area for forensic test and to examine the blast area. This blast is the second bomb blast after May 25 blast in 2011 at the high court. Indian Government and Delhi Police have issued high alert in the Capital and all the cities of India.
